Important changes in Russian visa requirements for Canadian citizensAfter a coordinated campaign of bilateral talks and engagement, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that as of February 20, 2009 Canadian citizens will no longer be subject to a mandatory 3-week waiting period in order to receive a Russian entry visa.
From this date on Canadian citizens will have opportunity to get Russian visas under conditions which were applicable before June 1, 2008. It means that respecting all Russian regulations with regard of visa application documents visas can be obtained on expedited basis with extra fees for rush processing applicable.
