New rule for Russian visa registrationThese rules became effective in October 2007
If foreigner is staying at an apartment it is not necessary to go to OVIR anymore. All documents can be submitted by post.
Please, note, that the foreigner who comes to Russia has to register his/her visa within 72 hours upon his/her arrival. This period excludes holidays or weekends.
If foreigner is staying at the hotel, the hotel will register his/her visa for the period of his/her stay.
