All Russian visas will be registered through UVIR
Effective December 6, 2002 it is prohibited to register either tourist or business visas at the office of the sponsoring company.
The foreign citizens who are staying in hotels, will register their visas there for a nominal fee.
All foreigners who are staying in private apartments must register their visas within 3 business days through the local UVIR.
- If you have a tourist visa and stay in private apartments please come to the office of sponsoring company within 2 days upon your arrival to Russia and submit your documents for registration.
- If you have a business visa and stay in private apartments, the owner of the appartments will need to provide you with a notarilly confirmed letter allowing you to stay and be temporarily registered in his/her appartment. This letter together with your passport and visa should be submitted to the sponsoring company within 2 days upon your arrival to Russia.
Registration through UVIR will take minimum 2 working days for tourist visas and up to 5 working days for business visas. As your documents will be taken away from you, make sure you are given an official confirmation of this.
